Home Again

2024-2025

This work concerns legacy and memory, specifically as it relates to my paternal grandparents' lives before (and just after) the passing of my grandmother, whose life philosophy encapsulated Joy as Resistance. It’s still difficult for me to describe what this work does and what it means to me, both because I am grieving her loss in real time and because the work continues to evolve. For now, I have this desperate desire to document my family as it has been shaped by the love and care of a woman who prized wonder, creativity, and honesty above all else, who raised five children and helped teach 10 grandchildren to be kind and understanding to themselves and to others.
