Mac_029 from the series: Geography of Embodied Narratives
2025
Focusing mainly on Queer and Trans folx, these portraits function as resistance by refusing narrow or prescribed ideas of identity. Rather than presenting people as fixed or easily defined, my work honors identity as fluid, self-authored, and continually unfolding. Each image centers presence, vulnerability, and agency, offering space for individuals to be seen on their own terms as complex, expansive, and unapologetically real. In a culture that often demands clarity, categorization, or performance, the act of witnessing someone in their fullness becomes quietly radical.
The work invites viewers into a practice of looking with care and openness. It asks for a slowing down and a willingness to meet others beyond assumption while recognizing the shared courage required to exist honestly. By standing in their own truth, those portrayed extend an invitation outward to question inherited expectations, embrace multitudes, and allow both self and others the freedom to continually unfold.
