Lara Kaur

Untitled

2025

Photographed in Punjab, the women in these portraits, seated or standing, strong and at ease, are captured on film in moments of embodied truth. The surrounding environments hum with daily life: soft light, layered textures, ambient sounds. The women are not posed for performance but held in states of being, fierce, soft, and wholly present. Each frame becomes a refusal and an offering: to be seen without explanation, interruption, or apology.

Kaur asks you to reflect on the following - when was the last time you felt seen? How may we offer this gift to one another and what can this provide to our collective wellness?
