SAIF

2024

I am a second-generation Jordanian and queer artist creating through the lens of personal and collective histories with a commitment to visual storytelling that reflects the beauty and resistance of trans and queer diaspora.

Analog photography has been at the heart of my practice for over a decade. I’m drawn to the way images honor moments, shape memory, and combat societal amnesia.

My work threads themes of personal autonomy, cultural roots, sensuality, nature, and steadfastness.

This portrait of my friend, Saif, finds him gazing back at the viewer, dignified and complete, sipping Arabic coffee. This is an invitation for the veil to be lifted at the confluence of being LGBTQ+ and SWANA.

It doubles as an urgent declaration of solidarity with Palestinian and global struggles for freedom. A reminder to resist imperialism, refuse erasure, and mobilize.
