The “Unbought” series challenges traditional ideas of generational wealth within the Black community. In this image, currency is held, manipulated, and disrupted — shifting power away from ownership and toward agency. The work reframes value through cultural capital — style, presence, and self-definition — as forms of wealth that exist beyond what can be inherited or possessed.
